2024 School Supplies

Items still needed:

We have almost everything we need for our school supplies effort this year!  (We even have extras of some of the items, which will be donated to mayor’s offices or schools for those children who may need them.) All we lack is 164 of the backpacks, but they are funded. The children’s class and the adult class at Orangeburg church of Christ were a huge help and really got us started well. The ladies class at Elkmont church of Christ sent massive amounts of crayons and colored pencils.

Central church of Christ in Martinez, GA went way beyond anything we ever expected and flooded us with boxes upon boxes of supplies from Amazon as well as sending us 100 bibles. Our recycling bin, which is large, has been full for weeks. The North Brandon and Killen churches sent us 80 bibles each.

Sister Kathryn Cooper (Eastside church of Christ in Ocean Springs, MS) provided the funds for the majority of the 250 backpacks. Glen and Joleen Mesa (members here at Ipan) purchased 72 of them as well. I hope not to have missed anyone, and if I did, please let me know.

We thank you all from the very depths of our hearts for your help in this. Please pray that the children who receive the backpacks filled with the items they need for school, and of course a Bible they need for their souls, will have a great school year and take their Bibles and study it to find God’s will revealed within.

The church will be distributing the backpacks in Mangilao, where all but a couple were given away last year. We are expanding the effort this year to include the village Talofofo. Ipan, where we live and meet, is a sub-village of Talofofo. Depending on how well this effort goes this year, we will do it again next year.
